Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is one of the best-evidenced supplements in nutrition science. The Endocrine Society (Holick 2011 guidelines), IOM, and multiple meta-analyses agree that supplementation is warranted in verified deficiency (25-OH vitamin D <30 ng/mL affects 40-70% of the US population depending on latitude, season, and race). Drops (liquid vitamin D3 in an oil vehicle) is a legitimate and even preferred format — fat-soluble vitamins benefit from lipid delivery, and drops permit precise dose titration (typical concentrations: 1000-2000 IU per drop). Effective daily doses: 1000-2000 IU/day for general health in most adults; 4000-5000 IU/day for correction of deficiency under lab monitoring; up to 10,000 IU/day short-term for severe deficiency. This SKU does not disclose IU per drop, oil vehicle (MCT vs olive vs coconut), or vitamin D2 vs D3 form. Standard 58/100: strong ingredient evidence, appropriate format, held from Verified only by missing IU-per-drop disclosure and form specification.
The Vyvata score's Evidence dimension measures the quality of published RCT support for a product's active ingredients at the label dose. Our source hierarchy: double-blind RCTs in MEDLINE-indexed journals > single-blind RCTs > open-label trials > observational studies > mechanism papers > N=1 case studies (anecdotes). Predatory journals and manufacturer-authored studies without independent replication are weighted down.
Product-specific evidence citations for this item are embedded in the analysis text on the "Analysis" tab. For the full framework and evidence hierarchy, see the methodology page.

The Vyvata score measures product integrity against a published rubric, not customer sentiment. Vyvata does not aggregate, republish, or license third-party reviews — the links below open search pages on their respective platforms.
Every VSF-related metafield surfaced verbatim. Nothing hidden. If you spot data that looks wrong, let us know.
Every score is set from the published rubric, audit-logged, and rescored whenever new evidence emerges (published trials, updated labels, third-party testing releases). Every vendor is scored on the same criteria — no pay-to-play. See our editorial-independence disclosure for the full policy, including brands with an editorial relationship to this site.
