Pharmanex is Nu Skin's supplement sub-brand (NYSE:NUS). Colostrum Defense delivers bovine colostrum concentrated for immunoglobulin G (IgG) content. Bovine colostrum has some evidence for immune support: Kelly 2003 review, small studies for URI reduction in athletes (Crooks 2006) and reduced gut permeability. The evidence base is moderate but consistent. The pharmacokinetic question — how much orally-ingested IgG survives gastric acid and reaches the small intestine to modulate mucosal immunity — is only partially resolved (some intact IgG passes; most is denatured). Nu Skin/Pharmanex uses MLM distribution and has the regulatory-history context described above. Formulation and ingredient quality are defensible; the concerns are (a) MLM distribution and price premium, (b) 1997 FTC consent order and ongoing scrutiny of product-claim substantiation, and (c) less independent third-party verification than practitioner-grade colostrum brands (Sovereign Laboratories, Symbiotics).
