The core problem with tinctures for milk thistle specifically is that silymarin is poorly soluble in water and only modestly soluble in ethanol, making tincture form a suboptimal delivery vehicle for the active flavonolignan complex. Standardized dry extract capsules or silybin-phytosome preparations deliver dramatically more silymarin per dose. Small artisan herbalist framing without disclosed silymarin mg-per-ml. Not autofailed because no detox claim in the title, but the format itself is a formulation weakness for this particular herb. Legitimate for traditional-use consumers but should not be positioned as clinically equivalent to standardized capsule preparations.
