Capsulated greens products are a real category — they compress large amounts of freeze-dried plant material into a small daily dose and deliver a portion of the polyphenol, carotenoid, and phytonutrient load of eating whole produce. Ortho Molecular's manufacturing quality is a legitimate quality signal. Two structural caveats apply to the entire greens-capsule category: (1) capsule format inherently limits total dose — 180 capsules is a strong volume, but the total dried plant material per daily serving is still much less than eating actual fruits and vegetables and cannot replicate fiber content; (2) the whole-food vs. supplement debate matters here — polyphenols from whole foods appear to have superior bioavailability and health effect compared to isolated concentrated extracts in many trials.
