BioStack GlyNAC+ is a formulation designed to replicate the Sekhar 2021 Baylor College of Medicine randomized controlled trial protocol — glycine plus N-acetyl-cysteine at combined doses shown to restore intracellular glutathione, improve mitochondrial function, reduce oxidative stress and inflammation markers, improve insulin sensitivity, and improve physical performance in older adults. The Sekhar lab has published multiple follow-up papers (2021, 2022, 2023) reinforcing the mechanism. This is one of the strongest longevity-adjacent supplement evidence bases currently available — a real RCT in humans measuring both mechanistic biomarkers (glutathione, oxidative stress, mitochondrial function via 31P-MRS) and functional outcomes (gait speed, grip strength, cognition). BioStack's implementation combines the two amino acids at doses that appear to approximate the study protocol (roughly 100 mg/kg/day each in the Sekhar trial, which for an 80 kg adult is ~8g each daily — real GlyNAC dosing is a significant powder or high-capsule-count regimen; check the label for per-serving amounts and total daily target). The '+' suggests additional supporting cofactors — evaluate ingredient panel for whether these enhance or dilute the core protocol. Marks off for typical DTC-scale manufacturing (not pharmaceutical-grade), the modest independent-verification apparatus, and the reality that the Sekhar evidence base, while strong, is still a single lab's body of work awaiting broader independent replication.
The Vyvata score's Evidence dimension measures the quality of published RCT support for a product's active ingredients at the label dose. Our source hierarchy: double-blind RCTs in MEDLINE-indexed journals > single-blind RCTs > open-label trials > observational studies > mechanism papers > N=1 case studies (anecdotes). Predatory journals and manufacturer-authored studies without independent replication are weighted down.
Product-specific evidence citations for this item are embedded in the analysis text on the "Analysis" tab. For the full framework and evidence hierarchy, see the methodology page.

The Vyvata score measures product integrity against a published rubric, not customer sentiment. Vyvata does not aggregate, republish, or license third-party reviews — the links below open search pages on their respective platforms.
Every VSF-related metafield surfaced verbatim. Nothing hidden. If you spot data that looks wrong, let us know.
Every score is set from the published rubric, audit-logged, and rescored whenever new evidence emerges (published trials, updated labels, third-party testing releases). Every vendor is scored on the same criteria — no pay-to-play. See our editorial-independence disclosure for the full policy, including brands with an editorial relationship to this site.
