The certification is a genuine plus — Informed Sport testing catches banned-substance contamination from shared manufacturing lines and adds a real assurance layer for competitive athletes. The problem is the underlying premise: the marketing claim that Kre-Alkalyn is meaningfully better than plain creatine monohydrate because of its higher pH is not supported by the head-to-head RCT literature. Multiple independent trials comparing Kre-Alkalyn to plain creatine monohydrate have found no significant advantage on strength, hypertrophy, or performance endpoints, and the theoretical basis (that regular creatine degrades to creatinine in stomach acid) has been shown to be minimal in transit-time-normal humans.
