Why this scored 64/100

CanDo (Fabrication Enterprises) is one of the incumbent US suppliers to the physical-therapy institutional channel — a real practitioner-grade brand, not a DTC white-label. The FabStretch incline/slant board is a heavy-duty plastic board with a 400 lb weight capacity, four discrete angle settings, and a flat-fold design for storage. Calf and Achilles-stretching slant boards have a well-established role in PT rehabilitation for Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, calf strains, and general ankle-dorsiflexion mobility work; the mechanistic case (passive gastrocnemius/soleus lengthening under bodyweight) is straightforward and the practical utility is broadly accepted in orthopedic PT even where controlled RCT evidence for the specific intervention is limited. Build quality is at the institutional-durable spec (400 lb capacity is above the ~250-300 lb spec on cheap consumer versions). No electronics, so no reliability decay over time. Standard-issue plastic construction that will not degrade meaningfully with home use. Warranty on CanDo is typically 1-year limited through the institutional channel. Value proposition versus purpose-built wooden professional slant boards (2-4x the price) or cheap 1-angle stamped consumer boards is genuinely middle-of-market. Would move to Verified 70+ with published biomechanical validation of angle-specific dorsiflexion targets, extended warranty terms, and a companion PT protocol / usage guide.

Evidence & sources

The Vyvata score's Evidence dimension measures the quality of published RCT support for a product's active ingredients at the label dose. Our source hierarchy: double-blind RCTs in MEDLINE-indexed journals > single-blind RCTs > open-label trials > observational studies > mechanism papers > N=1 case studies (anecdotes). Predatory journals and manufacturer-authored studies without independent replication are weighted down.

Product-specific evidence citations for this item are embedded in the analysis text on the "Analysis" tab. For the full framework and evidence hierarchy, see the methodology page.

How to read the Evidence dimension

  • 80–100: Multiple double-blind RCTs in indexed journals directly testing this product OR the exact ingredients at the exact dose.
  • 60–79: Single double-blind RCT + supporting ingredient literature at the studied dose.
  • 40–59: Open-label trials + ingredient literature; no product-specific double-blind evidence.
  • 20–39: Ingredient literature only; no product-specific trials or trials in predatory venues.
  • 0–19: No credible evidence base or unverifiable claims.
