L-methylfolate (5-MTHF, the active reduced form of folate) is a legitimate supplement — preferred over synthetic folic acid for people with MTHFR variants (~40% of the population have one variant that reduces folate conversion efficiency, ~10% have two variants with substantially reduced conversion). Methylfolate is used in preconception nutrition, treatment-resistant depression as adjunct (Deplin at 7.5-15mg/day), and elderly with poor folate metabolism. Drops format allows fine dose titration. Effective doses: 400-800 mcg/day for general/preconception; 1-15mg/day for specific psychiatric or hematologic indications. This SKU is 60ml drops but discloses no mcg per drop and no vehicle (glycerin, water, or oil). Standard 55/100: real ingredient in a real format, held down by no dose disclosure and no COA. The methylfolate active form choice is itself a positive quality indicator vs cheaper folic acid.
