Why this scored 18/100

This product is being sold in violation of FDA/DEA regulations. Tirzepatide is a prescription-only compounded peptide — the active pharmaceutical ingredient in Eli Lilly's Mounjaro and Zepbound, a Schedule Rx GLP-1 and GIP dual receptor agonist approved by the FDA for type 2 diabetes management and chronic weight management. Vyvata categorically rejects any listing that circumvents prescription controls on Schedule Rx pharmaceuticals. Selling tirzepatide over the counter as a 'supplement' fails multiple independent standards simultaneously: (1) it is not a dietary supplement under DSHEA and cannot legally be marketed as one, (2) it circumvents the FDA prescription-drug distribution controls that exist specifically to ensure sterile pharmaceutical-grade product, appropriate patient screening, prescriber oversight, and adverse-event monitoring, (3) the source of any tirzepatide sold outside the pharmaceutical supply chain is almost certainly compounded, research-chemical grade, or counterfeit — none of which meet sterility, potency, or identity standards required for injectable peptide therapeutics, and (4) the safety profile of tirzepatide includes an FDA boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumors (medullary thyroid carcinoma risk in rodent studies, unknown risk in humans, contraindicated in patients with personal or family history of MTC or MEN 2), plus documented risks of pancreatitis, severe hypoglycemia (particularly when combined with sulfonylureas or insulin), gallbladder disease, diabetic retinopathy complications, kidney injury from severe GI adverse effects, and acute anaphylactic reactions. Administering an injectable peptide without prescriber oversight, without confirmed sterile sourcing, and without patient screening for contraindications is a category of risk that no legitimate supplement platform should facilitate. Multi-autofail: unverified_medical_claim (marketing an Rx-only diabetes/obesity drug as a supplement), out_of_scope_for_biohacking (Schedule Rx pharmaceuticals are not within Vyvata's supplement scope), and severe safety concern (FDA boxed warning, non-sterile injectable, no prescriber oversight). Vyvata will not list this product under any circumstances. Reporting to FDA MedWatch and to state pharmacy boards is appropriate. Consumers who have purchased or used this product should seek immediate evaluation by a licensed physician, particularly for thyroid, pancreatic, and glycemic status.

Evidence & sources

The Vyvata score's Evidence dimension measures the quality of published RCT support for a product's active ingredients at the label dose. Our source hierarchy: double-blind RCTs in MEDLINE-indexed journals > single-blind RCTs > open-label trials > observational studies > mechanism papers > N=1 case studies (anecdotes). Predatory journals and manufacturer-authored studies without independent replication are weighted down.

Product-specific evidence citations for this item are embedded in the analysis text on the "Analysis" tab. For the full framework and evidence hierarchy, see the methodology page.

How to read the Evidence dimension

  • 80–100: Multiple double-blind RCTs in indexed journals directly testing this product OR the exact ingredients at the exact dose.
  • 60–79: Single double-blind RCT + supporting ingredient literature at the studied dose.
  • 40–59: Open-label trials + ingredient literature; no product-specific double-blind evidence.
  • 20–39: Ingredient literature only; no product-specific trials or trials in predatory venues.
  • 0–19: No credible evidence base or unverifiable claims.
