AmBari Nutrition's Therma Trim stacks vitamin B6, iodine (from kelp), chromium, guarana, chitosan, green tea, and garcinia cambogia as a weight-loss/energy formula. Two red-flag ingredients: (1) garcinia cambogia (hydroxycitric acid) has been repeatedly associated with hepatotoxicity in case reports and the 2017 DILIN analysis, and its efficacy in weight-loss RCTs is null-to-marginal — the FDA has issued warnings; and (2) chitosan's weight-loss claim (fat-binding in the gut) has failed to show clinically meaningful outcomes in Cochrane review (Jull 2008) and can interfere with fat-soluble vitamin absorption. Guarana adds caffeine but its dose is not disclosed. The 'thermogenic' framing implies a specific mechanism (increased metabolic rate) that individual ingredients do not reliably produce at safe doses. Combination of a marginal-safety ingredient (garcinia) with a proprietary-adjacent multi-ingredient stack triggers safety_concern. Iodine content from kelp is unquantified — kelp iodine varies wildly by source and excess iodine has thyroid consequences.
