NusaPure Organic Beet Root uses a 20:1 extract at 400 mg per veggie capsule combined with 10 mg of 4:1 black pepper extract. The 20:1 extract ratio (400 mg extract = 8000 mg raw beetroot equivalent) is a common marketing framing but is essentially meaningless for beetroot because the bioactive of interest for cardiovascular and exercise-performance endpoints is nitrate, and nitrate is not concentrated proportionally in a 20:1 extract — the extraction ratio does not standardize to nitrate content. Every published beetroot cardiovascular or exercise trial (Lansley 2011, Wylie 2013, Bailey 2010) used nitrate-standardized beetroot juice at 5-8 mmol nitrate per serving. NusaPure does not publish a per-serving nitrate content or standardize this extract to nitrate, so the product cannot be evidence-matched to the beet nitrate literature. The 4:1 black pepper does not meaningfully enhance nitrate absorption. Honest single-ingredient framing and safe positioning; misleading extraction-ratio marketing and no nitrate standardization keep it Rejected.
