NusaPure Black Cherry Extract is a 20:1 whole-fruit cherry extract at 150 mg per capsule. The published evidence for tart cherry (Prunus cerasus, Montmorency) — the specific variety used in trials — targets gout uric acid reduction, exercise recovery, and sleep quality using tart cherry JUICE or concentrate at 240-480 mg anthocyanin equivalent per day (Howatson 2010 for exercise recovery, Howatson 2012 for sleep, Zhang 2012 for gout). The 150 mg 20:1 extract this product delivers implies 3 g raw cherry equivalent — well below the anthocyanin loads used in trials (typically 480 mg concentrated tart cherry powder = CherryPURE dose). Additionally, black cherry (Prunus serotina) is a distinct species from Montmorency tart cherry and does not automatically share the tart cherry evidence base. The product does not specify Montmorency variety, does not standardize to anthocyanin content, and uses a sub-therapeutic dose. Rejected under sub_therapeutic_dose.
The Vyvata score's Evidence dimension measures the quality of published RCT support for a product's active ingredients at the label dose. Our source hierarchy: double-blind RCTs in MEDLINE-indexed journals > single-blind RCTs > open-label trials > observational studies > mechanism papers > N=1 case studies (anecdotes). Predatory journals and manufacturer-authored studies without independent replication are weighted down.
Product-specific evidence citations for this item are embedded in the analysis text on the "Analysis" tab. For the full framework and evidence hierarchy, see the methodology page.

The Vyvata score measures product integrity against a published rubric, not customer sentiment. Vyvata does not aggregate, republish, or license third-party reviews — the links below open search pages on their respective platforms.
Every VSF-related metafield surfaced verbatim. Nothing hidden. If you spot data that looks wrong, let us know.
Every score is set from the published rubric, audit-logged, and rescored whenever new evidence emerges (published trials, updated labels, third-party testing releases). Every vendor is scored on the same criteria — no pay-to-play. See our editorial-independence disclosure for the full policy, including brands with an editorial relationship to this site.
