Why this scored 62/100

LifePak is Nu Skin's flagship comprehensive daily nutrient bundle — a packet-per-day format combining a multivitamin, a mineral pack, a fish-oil softgel, a CoQ10 softgel, and a mixed-carotenoid softgel. Underneath the 'Anti-Aging' marketing this is a legitimately competent multi-nutrient package: adequate D3 (typically 800-1000 IU), a proper B-complex including active folate forms in some regional variants, a mixed-carotenoid blend (alpha- and beta-carotene, lycopene, lutein, zeaxanthin — which is where the Prysm scanner biofeedback loop plays in), and EPA/DHA at meaningful (not vanity) doses. Manufacturing is stronger than the typical MLM label — Nu Skin's Pharmanex operation is an established GMP-certified US supplement manufacturer with published QC processes and third-party heavy-metal testing. Zidichouski et al. (2009) published skin carotenoid response data comparing LifePak users against non-users using the biophotonic Prysm scanner — the finding (higher skin carotenoid density with sustained LifePak use vs non-users) is real and consistent with what a mixed-carotenoid supplement would do; the interpretation ('more anti-aging protection') is a marketing overreach on that carotenoid biomarker. Legitimately Standard tier as a comprehensive daily multi, flagged for 'Anti-Aging' branding that exceeds published evidence.

Evidence & sources

The Vyvata score's Evidence dimension measures the quality of published RCT support for a product's active ingredients at the label dose. Our source hierarchy: double-blind RCTs in MEDLINE-indexed journals > single-blind RCTs > open-label trials > observational studies > mechanism papers > N=1 case studies (anecdotes). Predatory journals and manufacturer-authored studies without independent replication are weighted down.

Product-specific evidence citations for this item are embedded in the analysis text on the "Analysis" tab. For the full framework and evidence hierarchy, see the methodology page.

How to read the Evidence dimension

  • 80–100: Multiple double-blind RCTs in indexed journals directly testing this product OR the exact ingredients at the exact dose.
  • 60–79: Single double-blind RCT + supporting ingredient literature at the studied dose.
  • 40–59: Open-label trials + ingredient literature; no product-specific double-blind evidence.
  • 20–39: Ingredient literature only; no product-specific trials or trials in predatory venues.
  • 0–19: No credible evidence base or unverifiable claims.
