Estera Phase I is the first of Nu Skin's three-phase 'Estera' line targeting the female hormonal life course (menstruating years → perimenopause → postmenopause). Phase I is positioned for women in their reproductive years and is typically built around soy isoflavones with supporting botanicals such as chasteberry and rosemary. Ingredient class is defensible: soy isoflavones have Grade B human evidence for modest hormonal-support effects (Chen 2015 meta-analysis; NIH ODS soy monograph), and chasteberry has EMA HMPC monograph status for cyclical female discomfort. But scoring is dragged down by two Nu Skin patterns that repeat across the line: (1) the SKU is sold via a Nu Skin distributor channel, which is Nu Skin's MLM (multi-level marketing) sales channel — Nu Skin's regulatory history includes a $47M FTC settlement in 1997 for pyramid-scheme allegations and multiple subsequent SEC/FTC actions over income claims and product claims, and this is disclosed context users deserve to see; (2) the 'Phase I / II / III' branding implies a stepwise clinical protocol that is not itself validated in peer-reviewed literature — the underlying botanicals have some evidence, but the sequenced-protocol framing exceeds what published trials of the specific Estera formulation support (Nu Skin has not published Phase I trial data for Estera as a bundle at the same evidentiary level as, e.g., the LifePak/Prysm carotenoid work). Not listable in current form because the underlying medical-decision framing (which phase of a woman's life she should be in a specific supplement rotation) belongs with a clinician, not a distributor.
