- Do recovery tools have actual evidence?
- Mixed. Percussion therapy has RCT support for delayed-onset muscle soreness. Cold water immersion has strong evidence for perceived recovery but blunts some adaptations to strength training. Red-light photobiomodulation has RCT support for muscle recovery and localized pain. Compression therapy has RCT support for lymphatic drainage post-exercise.
