FAQ
- Do sleep supplements actually work?
- Depends on the ingredient. Melatonin has good RCT support for sleep-onset issues at low doses (0.3–1mg). Magnesium (glycinate) has moderate support for sleep quality in deficient individuals. L-theanine has support for reducing pre-sleep anxiety. Ashwagandha has emerging support. Most consumer sleep blends throw all of these together plus GABA/valerian in sub-therapeutic doses. Individual product pages show what the evidence actually is.
- How do you rank a sleep tracker against a sleep supplement?
- They're in different subcategories, ranked separately. The overall category page (this one) mixes them for the "top overall" list because a truly excellent sleep supplement and a truly excellent sleep tracker are both legitimate sleep optimization tools — but for decision-making, look at the subcategory-specific pages.
- Is a $2,000 smart mattress worth it?
- The rubric doesn't answer that — it measures product integrity, not value. What we can say: the mattresses with actual sensor validation studies score higher than those with marketing-language sleep-stage claims. The evidence and formulation dimensions expose which products have real data behind their claims.
